2024 Student Board Member Application

The Morgan Hill Unified School District is starting the process of electing a new Student Board Member and Alternate Student Board Member for the 2024-25 school year. This is open to seniors at Central, Live Oak, and Sobrato High Schools.

APPLICATION PROCESS 

1. Call for 2024-25 Student Board Member announcement: August 22nd

2. Complete and submit an MHUSD Student Board Member Application (paper version OR electronic version) by September 5th by 8:00 AM (paper form can be sent to Kelly Schriefer, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent: schrieferk@mhusd.org or dropped off to the District Office)

3. Qualified candidates will be notified no later than September 5th, in the evening

4. A high school-wide Google Form election will be held September 11th - 19th

5. The Student Board Member and Alternate Student Board Member will meet with the Superintendent on September 23rd at 4:00 PM

6. The Student Board Member Representative will be seated at the September 24th board meeting, beginning at 6:00 PM

TIMELINE

• Call for Student Board Member Election announcement on August 22nd 

• Applications are due September 5th at 8:00 AM 

• Qualified candidates will be notified by September 5th

• Candidate statements and campaign videos due by September 9th at 8:00 AM

• Schoolwide election via Google Form September 11th - 19th 

• Contact and announce winners (student BOE/alternate) on Friday, September 20th

• Student Board Member and Alternate Student Board Member will meet with the Superintendent September 23rd at 4:00 PM

• Student Board Member will be seated on September 24th at 6:00 PM
