Nordstrom School was named in honor of Gus H. Nordstrom, a former school board member and community activist who saw schools as instruments for social change. His legacy continues today with a commitment to community service from our Nordstrom students and families. The physical environment and  philosophical approach to learning have significantly evolved since Nordstrom opened its doors in 1959.

Our Current Vision:  Nordstrom students will become socially responsible leaders who learn from and collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds. We will use progressive technology skills to communicate for a range of purposes.  Students and staff will work creatively, reason critically and embrace innovation.  Responsibility will be shared within our community to foster rigorous academics, digital ethics and to impart 21st century skills as we prepare students for college and careers.
